Sad

This was part of an email campaigned by England fans urging people to vote for Ecuador's Luis Valencia for the best young player award of the world cup. Ronaldo went from 210,290 to 241,775 votes (25% of all votes), but Valencia soared from 195,377 to 331,087 (34%). Still Ronaldo is part of the six players shortlisted - the winner of the award will be announced on Friday, choosen by a 14-man panel. Have a look at it. Sad.

There is a very real danger that Cristiano Ronaldo will be voted the fans' best young player at the World Cup despite his pouting, diving, pretty boy antics - designed mainly to get himself a lucrative transfer to Real Madrid. He is currently first in the Fifa voting, ahead of Luis Valencia of Ecuador. Do the decent thing by voting for Valencia. It doesn't matter who you support or if you haven't seen them play, just stop Ronaldo. Send this on to any caring conscientious true football lover

Email campaign sad... yes, but it represents the public's anger and disgust at Ronaldo, who brings it on himself. He is a young player with masses of talent and ability but he is also hideously selfish, spoiled and has no concept of decency. He is the epitome of everything that is wrong with modern football, which is why I think so many detest him as he provides an outlet for everyone's frustration and annonyance at football's demise into a non-contact cheating contest played out by self-satisfied, massively overpaid half-witted prima donnas. Plus he has an annoying face!
